BOTANY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Thursday, February 21, in GLCH 310 at 4:30pm):
Speaker: Mr. Zhongxin Guo (OU Botany Ph.D. Student)
Title: "TCP1 controls the levels of brassinosteroids in Arabidopsis by regulating the expression of a key biosynthetic gene"
MICROBIOLOGY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Friday, February 22, in GLCH 129 at 3:00pm):
Speaker: Ms. Lauren Bray (OU Microbiology Master’s Student)
Title: "Identification of bacteria closely associated with the nodules of Desmanthus illinoensis"
STUDENT RESEARCH AND PERFORMANCE DAY:
Will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will coincide with the University of Oklahoma Parent’s Weekend, offering additional visibility of student research to the OU community. It will be held in the National Weather Center located on the OU Research Campus. This event will combine the former Graduate Student Research & Creativity Endeavors/Poster Session and the Undergraduate Research Day.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS:
Early Progress Grade Reports: Due Monday, February 25th (even if no grades are marked). Please return the “signed” form to me by 3pm next Monday--I will be making my last delivery to Academic Records.
Class Roll: Instructors should make the changes on the form that was distributed last week and return it to Academic Records, BH 330. All students attending class must be officially enrolled. Class attendance without enrollment is PROHIBITED by State Regents’ policy. Any student whose name does not appear on the class roll should consult immediately with the Office of Registration in BH 2nd floor.
Graduate Students: The Department Admission/Retention Committee will be distributing the Annual Evaluation Questionnaire next week. Again, if you were instructed by the Committee last year to fulfill an obligation, now is the time to take care of it. Evaluation Interviews will be held just BEFORE Spring Break, so if you haven’t fulfilled their recommendation you can be sure they will be wanting to see you!
ANNUAL TEACHING SCHOLARS INITIATIVE SYMPOSIUM (Monday, April 7, Noon until 5:30p, at the National Weather Center):
