BOTANY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Thursday, February 28, in GLCH 310 at 4:30pm):
Speaker: Mr. Jesse E. Bell (OU Botany Ph.D. Student)
Title: "Ecosystem Ecohydrology: How will the world respond to change?"

MICROBIOLOGY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Friday, February 29, in GLCH 129 at 3:00pm):
Speaker: Dr. Joseph Suflita (OU Microbiology Professor)
Title: “How to give a talk”

STUDENT RESEARCH AND PERFORMANCE DAY: Will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will coincide with the University of Oklahoma Parent’s Weekend, offering additional visibility of student research to the OU community. It will be held in the National Weather Center located on the OU Research Campus. This event will combine the former Graduate Student Research & Creativity Endeavors/Poster Session and the Undergraduate Research Day.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS:
ANNUAL GRADUATE STUDENT EVALUATION: The Department Admission/Retention Committee distributed the Annual Evaluation Questionnaire last week. Please return the completed form by Thursday, March 6 (next week). The Committee will use these for their evaluation review.

DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP: Application deadline is March 13, 2008. The scholarship information is available on our department web-site. Hard copies are available in the main office if students are not able to download from the web-site.

DEPARTMENT AWARD RECEPTION: Will be held April 11 at 3:00 in GLCH 131 to announce the recipients. Please make every effort to attend.

ANNUAL TEACHING SCHOLARS INITIATIVE SYMPOSIUM (Monday, April 7, Noon until 5:30p, at the National Weather Center):
Speaker: Ken Bain (Author of What the Best College Teachers Do)
