BOTANY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Thursday, February 14, in GLCH 310 at 4:30pm):
Speaker: Mr. Kai He (OU Botany Ph.D. Student)
Title: "Arabidopsis receptor-like kinases, BAK1 and BKK1, regulate the levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in chloroplast"

MICROBIOLOGY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Friday, February 15, in GLCH 129 at 3:00pm):
Speaker: Dr. Megan Elwood Madden (OU Department of Geology & Geophysics)
Title: "Gas Hydrates and Astrobiology: Potential sources and sinks for biogenic gases in the Solar System"

Seminar Speakers: Please send me your title by 3pm on Tuesday before your talk (at ahopper@ou.edu).

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS:

Class Attendance: All students attending class must be officially enrolled. Class attendance without enrollment is PROHIBITED by State Regents’ policy. Any student whose name does not appear on the class roll should consult immediately with the Office of Registration in BH 2nd floor.

Graduate Students: The Department Admission/Retention Committee will be distributing the Annual Evaluation Questionnaire within the next few weeks. Again, if you were instructed by the Committee last year to fulfill an obligation, now is the time to take care of it. Evaluation Interviews will be held just BEFORE Spring Break, so if you haven’t fulfilled their recommendation you can be sure they will be wanting to see you!

ANNUAL TEACHING SCHOLARS INITIATIVE SYMPOSIUM (Monday, April 7, Noon until 5:30p, at the National Weather Center):

Speaker: Ken Bain (Author of What the Best College Teachers Do)
