BOTANY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Thursday, March 13, in GLCH 310 at 4:30pm):
Speaker: Ms. Amanda Hess Coe (OU Botany Master Student)
Title: “Warming and clipping effects on vegetative phenology in a tallgrass prairie”
MICROBIOLOGY GRADUATE SEMINAR 5971 (Friday, March 14, in GLCH 129 at 3:00pm):
Speaker: Mr. Cody Sheik (OU Microbiology Ph.D. Student)
Title: “Effects of Simulated Global Warming on Microbial Populations”
STUDENT RESEARCH AND PERFORMANCE DAY: Will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2008 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and will coincide with the University of Oklahoma Parent’s Weekend, offering additional visibility of student research to the OU community. It will be held in the National Weather Center located on the OU Research Campus. This event will combine the former Graduate Student Research & Creativity Endeavors/Poster Session and the Undergraduate Research Day.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS/REMINDERS:
DEPARTMENT SCHOLARSHIP: Application deadline is due TOMORROW March 13, 2008. The scholarship information is available on our department web-site. Hard copies are available in the main office if students are not able to download from the web-site. Instructors: Please announce this in class.
DEPARTMENT AWARD RECEPTION: Will be held April 11 at 3:00 in GLCH 131 to announce the recipients. Please make every effort to attend.
“TABS” mid-semester course evaluation offered: The Program for Instructional Innovation (PII) offers teaching faculty at OU a free mid-semester course evaluation called “TABS.” With a mid-semester course evaluation, professors have the opportunity to alter teaching strategies based on student feedback. They provide an answer sheet and question sheet for each student as well as instructions. If you want to administer TABS this semester, contact the PII office at pii@ou.edu or 325-2323.
